I met Abby a few years ago. She was engaged and looking for a wedding photographer.
After photographing Abby&Sean’s wedding, I was head over heels in love with them. Abby was a high school art teacher and Sean is a red-headed physicist of some sort (not really my area of understanding…).  They are some of the most down to earth, friendly, warm people.

One time, Abby had me over for tea and cookies. (!!!!) Needless to say, I think things like tea and cookies are some of the sweetest things.
Abby brought me into her classroom and gave me the opportunity to guest lecture on photography (which was a huge thrill. Totally fell in love with teaching).
After their sweet baby Bea was born, they let me photograph the newest arrival in their family. And a few days later, they moved to Texas!

So I was ecstatic when Abby told me she was coming back into town and wanted to get some more photos made (and about the sweet cow print diaper cover she had for Bea…you’ll see…).

This photograph is my favourite from the session:

I feel all warm inside when I think about the Matthews/Lamb family. They are wonderful and when I think about the fact that I’ve been able to document the growth of their family for years…I get grateful.

Thank you Abby, Sean, and the rest of your loving family!

  1. WHAT A CUTIE!

I love some of the shots of her with the big catchlights in her eyes. Lovely.

  2. cute cute cute. I think she feels vulnerable lying almost naked in the grass. Makes me laugh.

  4. Your work is fantastic! It has all the hallmarks of someone who will make it big. It’s refreshing to see such passion.

I have to agree that the Lamb side is very sweet, but the Mathews side can be a bit tart at times. Abby definitely balances it all out. I say that from experience, since I’m one.
